Hi  - welcome to Agnes d r  - yes I am a total Chainmaille addict based in Kirkliston, 2 miles from Edinburgh Airport. All my pieces are made by hand, all the chainmaille is made up one ring at a time and as you can see from the pics that can be a lot of rings! I can sit for hours working on one standard piece and then change my mind about how it looks and start again,  adding a little bit of me to it!   All the chainmaille bracelets and necklaces are hallmarked by the Assay Office. 

 

 I love chainmaille, pearls, lampwork  and gemstones so most of what you see will be made up from Sterling Silver jump rings [round and square wire - sometimes oval],  freshwater pearls and of course gemstones of all descriptions.    I have freshwater pearls on some of the chainmaille and I have to say each pearl is drilled by hand so as to fit the ring I am using [this is very labour intensive and I do get a lot of help from my number one helping hand, Alistair],   However,we have not been able to drill through the Swarovski crystals as yet but we are working on this!   We also work with sterling silver tubing which is cut to the desired length for my designs.  Please note that the drilled pearls and cut tubes can vary in size, This is what makes my work unique I cannot produce 2 pieces the same - each is a one off!!

 

I do bespoke bridal jewellery  so hence the love of pearls and again these are made to order - whatever the bride wants I try to create!   What a thrill when she wears my jewellery.

 

I consider myself to be very lucky in that I do what I love best 8 hours a day [usually 12 hrs - but who is counting!].  If I am not designing, I am teaching - yes it is a 'Wonderful Life' [my favourite film].
